Dr Sanja Stanojevic

Offered to one awardee who is both a researcher and is pursuing an active research project in cystic fibrosis science and medicine.

Sanja Stanojevic, PhD, is an internationally recognised respiratory epidemiologist with expertise in research methodology, biostatistics and physiology. She is a Senior Research Associate at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto and Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto.

Dr Stanojevic's research focus is on epidemiology of respiratory diseases and application of novel statistical methods to improve interpretation of objectives measures of lung function. Close collaboration with clinicians and researchers specialising in cystic fibrosis have led to improvements in how data are analysed and interpreted to better understand how early lung disease in cystic fibrosis develops.

Dr. Stanojevic is also the ERS Chair of the Global Lung Function Initiative Clinical Research Collaborative. In recognition of her contributions to the field of pediatric respiratory medicine, she has been awarded the Klosterfrau Award and the European Respiratory Society Pediatric Respiratory Research Young Investigator Award.
