Healthy Lungs for Life

Healthy Lungs for Life seeks to reduce the number of people suffering from lung conditions by raising awareness and knowledge of ways to prevent lung damage. It is a global campaign that is jointly run by the European Lung Foundation and the European Respiratory Society.

The four themes are:

  1. Stopping Smoking (#BeSmokeFree)
  2. Physical Activity (#TakeTheActiveOption)
  3. Air Quality (#BreatheCleanAir)
  4. Vaccination (#Vaccinate)

Healthy Lungs for Life supports people who would like to run their own, local lung health awareness events. Find out more at the ELF/Healthy Lungs for Life stand in Hall 9, or by visiting the website.

The Healthy Lungs for Life Scavenger Hunt

This year for the first time, ERS Congress delegates are invited to join an app-based Scavenger Hunt, with the aim of learning more about the HLFL campaign themes. There are lots of fun activities and prizes to be won along the way, including a grand prize of an iPad or supported placement at a specialised centre offered to the person who scores the most points overall.*

  1. Download the 'Goosechase' app in ITunes or Google Play
  2. Search for 'Healthy Lungs for Life', or use the game code 'HLFL' to find and join the game
  3. Get started by tackling your first task!
