HERMES Examinations
The ERS HERMES European examinations in Adult and Paediatric Respiratory Medicine are open to respiratory professionals aiming to earn the HERMES diploma or for those who simply want to keep abreast of developments in the field and test their knowledge against their peers.
The exams are knowledge-based and is comprised of 90 multiple choice questions.
Sitting the exam for the ERS HERMES diploma
You can sit the exam to earn the ERS HERMES diploma. In order to be eligible for the certification of the diploma, candidates must fulfill the requirements and complete specific registration procedures, which can be found at hermes.ersnet.org. Please note that this year, final-year trainees are allowed to register for and sit the European diploma category exam.
Sitting the exam for self-assessment or in-training assessment
You can also sit the examination as part of a self-assessment exercise or as an in-training assessment. Participation in the examination on this basis will not lead to the European diploma and it is not possible to convert to the European diploma after the examination.
Following completion of the examinations, individual feedback according to the syllabus topics will be provided to allow participants to progress; those eligible will be awarded the European diploma if they pass the exam.
Registration for HERMES examinations is additional to the congress registration fee and is as follows:
